GW Takes First and Second at the Carolina Classic! - 10.20.08

Last weekend, The George Washington University Mock Trial program attended the second annual Carolina Classic Invitational tournament at Elon University. All three of GW's teams had a strong showing at the tournament, including a first place finish for Team 756 (7-1) and a second place finish for Team 757 (6-2).

Congratulations to Andrew Blackwell, who earned an outstanding attorney award with 20 ranks on the Plaintiff.

GW Mock Trial Welcomes New Members to the Organization! - 9.17.08

After watching an incredibly strong pool of tryouts, GW Mock Trial is pleased to welcome its newest members to the organization.

GW Mock Trial Ranked #1 in the Nation - 7.30.08

Last week, The American Mock Trial Association released its Bonus Bid Rankings for the 2008-2009 season and GW Mock Trial is ranked #1 in the nation.

The Bonus Bid Ranking System is based on the total number of ballots accumulated over the last three National Championship Tournaments.  Over that period, GW has amassed more points than any other program in the country.

GW Mock Trial Takes Second in the Nation

After going 8-0 and winning the Lundgren-Risk Division of the National Championship Tournament, Team 756 qualified for the National Championship Round for the first time ever. In a very close round, Team 756 lost a split decision against the University of Maryland, College Park.
Congratulations to Laura Bentele, Andrew Blackwell, James Bonneau, Lindsay Bowles, Jacob Chervinsky, Kevin Homiak, and Daniel Theveny for their National Runner-Up Finish at the 2007-2008 National Championship Tournament.

GW Wins Second Gold Bid!

Congratulations to Team 758 and Team 757 for taking 3rd place and 5th place respectively at the Capital City Regional Tournament in Washington, DC! 758 team members included Colin Bornmann, Lindsay Brooker, Molly Connors, Sarah Henke, Matthew Ketai, Kathleen McGinn, and Nalini Prasad. 757 team members included Diana Bardes, Lindsay Bowles, Anne Meyers, Alex Shoucair, Daniel Theveny, and Sophie Zavaglia.

Special congratulations to Colin Bornmann, Lindsay Brooker, Molly Connors, & Sarah Henke for their all-regional individual honors.

GW Wins Gold!

Congratulations to Team 756 for taking 1st place at the The Noel Myricks East Regional Tournament in Baltimore Maryland! GW finished with a record of 7-1. Team members included Sara Axelrod, Laura Bentele, Andrew Blackwell, James Bonneau, Jacob Chervinsky, Kevin Homiak, & Katherine Meier-Davis. Special congratulations to Katherine Meier-Davis and Jacob Chervinsky for their all-regional individual honors.

As a result of taking first, GW has qualified a team directly to the National Championship Tournament in early April.
